Flavors of Indonesia Illustrated Cookbook

I made this project to showcase the diversity of Indonesian cuisine and introduce it to a global audience. Through vibrant illustrations and easy-to-follow instructions, it presents 10 iconic dishes in a way that’s approachable for beginners while honoring Indonesia’s rich culinary heritage.

Inspired by the retro charm of warung culture—Indonesia’s street food vendors—the design features bold typography, bright colors, and street-style visuals, reframing “ugly” design as something bold and authentic. The cookbook aims to spark a love for Indonesian food around the world.

I'm Wildy Riftian, a graphic and motion designer from Indonesia. Originally trained in graphic design, I earned my BFA in Visual Communication Design from Kookmin University in Seoul before expanding my practice into animation, motion, and 3D.

Currently pursuing an M.A. in Animation at SCAD Savannah, my work combines graphic design, illustration, motion design, and 3D to create visually driven narratives and brand experiences. I am particularly interested in the intersection of storytelling, identity, and emerging digital media.
