Entry Description

Set within Fayetteville’s original city park, the Wilson Park Hub transforms a basic utility structure into a layered space for gathering, movement, and reflection. Terraced seating, ramps, and overlooks connect the park’s upper and lower levels, drawing visitors into the landscape. A mix of steel, pine, brick and stone offers both resilience and warmth. On the north facade, a back-lit sculpture by T.T. Smith honors the park’s iconic Dawn Redwood-blending art, memory, and place.

Bio

DEMX architecture is a design-focused architecture firm in Fayetteville, Arkansas. We were founded with a belief that vernacular building types are those from which we could learn our greatest lessons. Our other inspiration is modernism, which is dependent on the ideals of material production and assembly. Combining these two approaches allows us to pursue sustainable practices and design solutions, rooted in efficiency, appropriate material choices, and contextual response.
