When thinking of Austria, Japanese associate it with classical music. Therefore the Expo theme ‘Designing Future Society for our Lives’ is reinterpreted: in Austria, future is not designed, it is composed.
A 91m-long, 16m-high timber spiral forms the centerpiece—symbolizing optimism, joy, and Austria’s leadership in timber construction. Its inner surface features notes from Beethoven’s Ode to Joy.
The modular pavilion is a reusable steel structure with three exhibition zones, culminating in an immersive multimedia installation.
