Entry Description

The Longkou Incinerator Adaptive Reuse and Urban Mending Plan delivers sustainable housing designs by repurposing the closed incinerator into a complex. With the station located on the axis between the Taipei Botanical Garden and the future Xia'an MRT station, the site becomes a bridge from the past to the future. The project proposes a flexible implementation: morphed illegal settlements into a multifaceted program that includes public space, residential units, and ecological space and thereby helps recreate community identity and mend the urban discontinuity.
