A 117-year-old historic building with iconic architecture, between two passages and a cul-de-sac, which served the bank as a branch until 2016, was to be transformed into a museum of painting and sculpture. The İşbank Museum of Painting-Sculpture, which aims to popularize art and share its collection of paintings with the public, was to be a gift to the 100th anniversary of Turkish Republic.
The first and main goal was to preserve a historical building with its spatial articulation, atmosphere, materials and patina, while equipping it with the technical needs of today's contemporary museum.
