Lakeside Cottage is designed to be a year-round retreat for two families. The main floor stretches one-room deep parallel to the shoreline allowing all the shared spaces –family room, kitchen, dining, and great room– to face the lake. A semi-permeable, screened porch, proportionally and materially part of the home, extends from the great room allowing for views to the lake, the pool, and the garden courtyard. The interior design draws inspiration from the rugged beauty that surrounds it, emphasizing tactility, maximizing natural light, and using local materials to create a warm, inviting home.
