Entry Description

With a relatively complex surrounding environment, Chongqing 1949 Grand Theater is located at the edge of the urban core area, at the intersection of high-rise residential area, industrial areas, and ancient town conservation areas. Through careful treatments towards the form, material, environment and other aspects, the architects reasonably solve the contradictions between architecture and its environment. The building looks like it emerges from the native environment, mutually benefiting the content of the performances and integrating with the surrounding traditional streets.
