Entry Description

Urban Vine reimagines New York City’s scaffolding as a living, mobile infrastructure that nurtures both nature and community. Transforming dark, unsafe sidewalk tunnels into vibrant green corridors, it attaches to buildings while repairing the urban ecosystem. Prefabricated modules cultivate plant succession, expand sustainable surfaces, cool streets, and foster social interaction. Merging ecological renewal with civic engagement, the system turns temporary construction into a regenerative network that strengthens public life and reconnects people with their environment.
