Entry Description

This 3,850 sqm recycling facility near Tehran adopts an “architecture as revealing” approach—exposing wear, time, and labor rather than concealing them.
Made of raw steel, concrete, and local blocks, it embraces roughness and traces of use. Glass-walled rooms beside work areas adapt to workers’ needs—rest, tea, or smoking—making pauses visible. A small chicken coop built from leftovers introduces rhythms.
Designed with workers under budget limits, it uses passive ventilation and inclusive access. The project foregrounds fragility over perfection, revealing the complexity of industrial life.
