In response to urban land shortages, this project features micro-apartments—each no larger than 25 sqm—designed on a wildfire-prone mountainside. The main challenge was to create fire-resistant housing that still delivers architectural quality. Using the site's slope, a stepped configuration ensures optimal light, views, and ventilation. A central courtyard enclosed by insulated concrete walls acts both as a communal space and passive fire defense. The partially buried units benefit from the earth’s thermal and protective properties while maintaining spatial richness.
