Entry Description

At a critical intersection in Downtown Brooklyn within the base of a residential tower, this new 50,000 sf cultural arts center will house new programs for four vibrating cultural institutions.

The streetscape steps up to create an elevated topography supporting outdoor programming while welcoming public in. Inside, an undulating wood wall envelopes the cafe and gallery, allowing various configurations of exhibition. On the opposite side is the library's wood-lined shelving and seating. The public experience continues to the performance venues and cinemas upstairs, with panoramic city views.
