“This Is Paper” is an innovative project addressing Hong Kong's paper waste, the third-largest municipal waste source. With no local recycling options, the project reintroduces paper waste into the material stream using three fabrication methods: casting, lamination, and 3D printing. By creating new materials from locally sourced waste, the project develops sustainable solutions, demonstrated through furniture prototypes. “This Is Paper” raises awareness about paper consumption and recycling, inspiring a circular economy by sharing processes and showcasing the potential of recycled materials.
