The project 'FLOWING' focuses on the innovation of rattan weaving technology and its application in furniture design. The critical point is to change the traditional 2-dimensional decorative weaving into 3-dimensional spatial and functional weaving and explore the extreme organic shape it can achieve.
The thick rattan wickers go through the whole chair to form the legs, cushion, backrest, and armrest with organic patterns woven between them. The ideation is inspired by the curves of the rivers and clouds flowing through the mountains in traditional Chinese landscape paintings.
