Entry Description

The project considers Tonga’s reconstruction after the volcanic disaster as an opportunity for future sustainable development. By introducing a new industrial model, the volcanic ash that Tonga suffered from can be turned into treasure applied to the urban infrastructure and eco-restoration of farmland and coastal areas, thereby promoting agriculture, fishery and living tourism. Meanwhile, we plan corresponding strategies for different stages. Through this integral scheme of a sustainable working landscape, Tonga will climb out of its “MIRAB trap”, towards ecological and industrial resilience.
