“The Loft at Lune”, the former barn of the Victorian estate in rural Ontario, was transformed into an impressive gothic-inspired gathering space. The strong monolithic forms of the ecclesiastical inspired architecture, from the formal symmetry of the space planning, tall gothic windows, to the soft arches and vaulted ceilings throughout, create an ethereal atmosphere. Studio Author looked to emphasise this with materials that would add character, depth and a touch of imperfection to the space; soft lime washed walls and hand-split flagstone floors throughout add tactility and ground the space.
