A total of 10 midnightsky chalets (8 + 2 barrier-free) are located in a forest clearing next to the IKUNA Nature Resort as vacation homes for up to 5 people. The unique design was inspired by wood logs chaotically piled at the forest edge. Using a double-shell concept (solid timber panels inside and an exterior wood frame for insulation), the construction time was extremely short, only 5 months, with the shell erected in just 2.5 days. The goal was to make the building material, wood, tangible and experiential for guests, creating an ideal design experience for sustainable tourism.
