Rapid urban renewal has disrupted the once harmonious relationship between humans and water. The designers selected a typical river case—the Daxi River Basin in Chongqing—for their project. This basin includes residential, campus, industrial, and natural areas, featuring hardened riverbanks, severe water pollution, and limited human-water interaction. In response to these issues, several design strategies were proposed to protect and enhance the surrounding river environment, create a pleasant ecological landscape, and restore a harmonious human-water relationship.
