ERA can provide temporary shelter for earthworms. During tillage, waste such as kitchen waste and fallen leaves can be put into the ERA and covered, and they will be attracted into the ERA through the feeding habits of earthworms.
During harvest, pesticide levels in the soil will decrease over time. At this time, waste such as kitchen waste will be stopped, allowing earthworms to leave the ERA to forage and return to the soil.
After a planting cycle, the ERA contains worm waste and kitchen waste that can be used as fertilizer to restore soil nutrients.
