Entry Description

vakil metro station with an area of 15000 square meters is located on zand barik street in shiraz, adjacent to vakil bazar, bath and mosque. In the middle of shiraz old fabric.
Consist of five levels. In level -3 platform in level -2, ticket hall, and offices, and in level -1 galleries. Ground level included some commercial and first floor is offices and coffee shop, The building located on both side of zand barik St. on ground floor.

Bio

Born in 1957, Mehrdad Iravanian is an Iranian architect, urbanist, designer, sculptor and painter. Being one of Iran’s prolific architects of his generation, Iravanian maintains a comprehensive design practice, probing altered aspects of art and architecture. Worldwide he is known for pioneering the urban landscape design and industrial architecture in Iran. His buildings are characterized by the powerful concept of negotiable montage in a philosophical manner. He opened his private practice at beginning of 90s in Shiraz.

Awards and Prize

Iravanian has achieved his international reputation in 2002 by winning the first prize of Marble Architectural Award (MAA) for Quran Gateway Landscaping, which was built in 1995. Also he had been nominated for architectural award by Agha Khan Foundation four times.
