Excel x Impact is a biannually publication to showcase PolyU as an innovative world-class university. We helped to redesign the logotype, the layout grid system and upgrade the overall look and feel of the magazine. We used two inverting arrows to create the letter "x", representing the meaning of mixing and adding. The Yin and Yang arrow graphic style is then bring across the whole magazine. The new logotype and the new cover layout design give a modern, professional and innovative feeling. The cover story section has a white bar on the left to start each article, aligning to the cover design
Malou is an international award-winning branding designer based in Hong Kong. She started THE CABINET design studio since 2005 where she has worked for more than 200 international and local projects with over 130 clients such as, Standard Chartered, Cathay Pacific, Ralph Lauren, Sheraton, KEF, Nan Fung Group, The "Star" Ferry, Chubb, Starbucks... She connects people through design. She is PolyU Design Young Design Alumna of the Year 2024 in Entrepreneurial Achievement and Associate Member of the Outstanding PolyU Alumni Association. She won 120+ local and international design awards.
