LA-based studio Bells + Whistles reimagined Providence, co-owned by chef Michael Cimarusti with Cristina Echiverri and Donato Poto. Formerly two-star, the restaurant was recently elevated to three Michelin stars following the redesign. The team crafted a multi-sensory experience through minimalism, showcasing the food and service rather than highlighting the room. Subtle nods to sea and sky appear in hand-troweled ombre Venetian plaster evoking ocean depths and a ripple-effect carpet flowing through the space, interrupted by green terrazzo.
Established in 2000, Bells + Whistles is an award-winning, Los Angeles-based design studio that is dedicated to creating quality, hand-made, modern interiors. Working primarily with commercial spaces, our projects have included bars, restaurants, boutiques, entertainment venues and salons.
