Entry Description

Hong Kong plans to further develop the rural land with a grand urban scheme, 'The Northern Metropolis' (‘NM’), encompassing 30,000 hectares of land in the North. In the particular region of San Tin, NM plans to reclaim 116 hectare of existing fish ponds and agricultural land with high ecological value to make way for a new innovation hub - ‘San Tin Technopole’. In our Conceptual Urban Design, we explore ways to minimize disruption to the ecological land, preserve the rural fabric with new developments, and harmonize the livelihood of new and existing villagers by “TOUCHING THE EARTH LIGHTLY”.
