The Forest Retreat Residential is an apartment compound over 50000m² in the metropolitan area of Hangzhou, a city famous for its natural landscape in southeast China. The landscape design conceives a densely vegetated garden with amenities including pools, playgrounds, and reading spaces for residents.
The central space is a pool with cabana decks on the side, which provides an urban-retreat vibe. The design uses 37 species of local plants forming a green paradise full of shades and oxygen. The materials for walls, pavings, and most other hardscapes are in grey tone to reduce heat reflection.
