The design approach reinterprets traditional Minnan-style architecture with a modern touch. Pingtan, located as a bridge between Taiwan and China, holds strategic significance as a pivotal coastal hub for economic and political connections between the two. Regrettably, approximately a decade ago, the Harbour Ferry Terminal became stagnant for various reasons. The three-dimensional design language is manifested in the building's facade, which echoes the contours of the nearby mountain ranges, seamlessly integrating modern and traditional elements.
