Transforming Sligo jail from a space of punishment and fear to a world that we close our eyes to see; where the loudness of the world dissolves into enjoyment, peace and perfection, a world created in our minds when the real world constrains us.The design is inspired by the tally marks and drawings on the jail walls. The quality of time prisoners have in prison doing nothing. They feel the length of each second as if the time will never pass. Then they start to use their imagination to escape from reality as it is the only space for them to think freely and create a new reality inside of them.
