This family two story PH programme required receiving frequent guests. It felt cold, empty, with no privacy between areas. In new layout, a wood panel hides intimate area balancing play and rest areas. A darker palette accentuates coziness. Scale became introspective, atmosphere feels welcoming and equilibrates spaciousness and restraint. Many furnishing were especially crafted. dıreccıon selected lighting, artwork and natural textiles to create a slate to highlight, through personal affects, the character of the family. Now, a dark elegant and welcoming place underpins intimacy and comfort.

Mariana Morales is a mexican architect, founder of dıreccıon, with over 20 year experience working with prestigious Mexican architect firms on Residential, Retail, Commercial and upscale Hospitality projects. Throughout her career has been characterized by a unique attention to detail, the use of simple lines and materials, natural colors, her passion for design and Mexican artistry. In Mariana’s designs elegance meets nature; her spaces foster a self-reflection grounded in nature -where wellbeing is front at center- and they reveal her fondness of meditation.
