Designed for a couple with a penchant for art and entertaining, the Gallery house stands boldly modern in a Toronto neighborhood dominated by new Victorian builds and old bungalows. The exterior rectangular volumes, crafted from limestone, wood, and metal, reminisce art galleries. An open-concept ground plan flows around a sculpted oak stair and lattice that cascade light through the house. White walls and bronze displays feature art pieces that frame intimate and social moments. Sustainable features reflect the client’s wish to live responsibly in a house that celebrates life and art.
