Kyoei Steel recycles steel scrap using electric furnaces, ensuring a sustainable production cycle. The new Yamaguchi office, themed An Office Embraced in Recycled Steel, embodies this transformation. The exterior draws from stacked billets, while the interior uses locally sourced angle steel and rebars. Barcode and QR code designs extend throughout office spaces, harmonizing steel and ambient light. The lighting design transforms these intricate patterns into three-dimensional forms, adding depth and movement, symbolizing Kyoei Steel’s identity and long-term vision.
Nobuaki Miyashita is the CEO of MR Studio Co., Ltd., a leading architectural firm based in Tokyo, Japan. Specializing in redefining spaces, he directs his team to deliver innovative and user-centric architectural solutions across a variety of building types.
