We create asymmetrical and non-repeat digital patterns with our own software, which uses body movement to reconstruct digital data and reveal organic details not possible solely by programming. Designs are finalized by hand and digitally-printed onto wool without losing the sense of movement and unusual colour-ways. This collection is inspired by Taiwan’s natural and urban landscapes, culture and industry. It includes a design made in collaboration with renowned calligrapher Tong Yangtze which blends her powerful script ‘Taiwan’ with digital contours of the island’s majestic mountain peaks.
Founded in London in 2016, YEN TING CHO Studio creates innovative and dynamic patterns through human-computer interaction. Our patterns are crafted using digital technology pioneered by company founder and lead designer, Yen-Ting Cho.
We manipulate curated data (photos, videos) into original patterns and radically play with structure and colour to create our signature style. We print our patterns onto the finest materials, such as elegant pure wool, silk and cotton for our award-winning scarf collections. Our work blurs the boundaries between art, design and fashion.
