For 88 years, Shofukaku has been important venue in Nagoya. Following its demolition due to deterioration, we designed apartment building. To pass on memories of place to future generations, we preserved and inherit original architecture, details and textures. Then we sublimate those elements with "Dignity" and "Elegance.“ For example, Shofukaku was also famous as spot for admiring moon. Memory of this place is expressed through art using Karakami paper, traditional Kyoto craft. We aimed to not only incorporate the original appearance, but also elevate it to a style befitting a modern home
