Casa del Este is a self-sufficient coastal retreat set 40 meters from the Sea of Cortez in Los Cabos, Mexico. Built with rammed earth walls from on-site soil, it employs thermal mass to stabilize temperatures while maximizing passive cooling and solar control. Fully off-grid, it relies on solar energy and autonomous water systems. Inspired by traditional Mexican patios, it centers on a native tree and drought-tolerant vegetation, weaving privacy, landscape, and sustainable design into a seamless whole.
