Entry Description

Design aims to transform disciplinary work-life in a global IT Head Office, into an experiential hub for interactive & balanced work-life. The binary I/O which is basic code for computer processing, is interpreted across the space in terms of new flooring and ceiling symbol on carpet and pendant light display.

Multiple office rooms float on central carpet plateau, while work teams & causal meeting areas are strategically scattered around to foster teammates' sharing and collaboration. Close connectivity to distant ports are achieved by live port broadcast and I/O Clock Wall at public lounge.

Bio

Inspired and fascinated by the dynamic growth of Asian cities, MAIA | MAI Atelier is a research-oriented design studio, aimed to re-discover new socio-cultural possibilities pivotal to the built environment of future cities.

Awards and Prize

MAIA | MAI Atelier have been widely awarded in recent years and received the Los Angeles IDA awards, the Japan Good Design Award and A&D Trophy Award by Perspective for Best of Institution in Hong Kong & China.
