Entry Description

With the research of "Enclothed Cognition" of people with disability, DOOR was designed against the currently offered problematic products from 3 angles: accessibility, smartness, and fashionability.

Employing SMA springs that's shape-able in room temperature but contract to coiled form in 70°C, DOOR realizes a “self-lacing” mechanism through iterations of prototypes.

Activated by a charging mat, SMA springs within the sole unfold the heel, providing hand-free foot entry & exit. Simply step out of the mat to deactivate the springs, allowing counterforce to perform closure.
