This is a three-storey villa. The owner is a hospitable scholar-gentry family of three generations. Our aim is to create a home that has a spirit echoing their moral character, also accommodates the family gathering and individual’s private time. Ventilation, natural light and indoor greenery are the primary considerations. Visual connections of spaces are made through holes, windows and balcony. Skylights create upward feeling and moving shadows to the space. Showers are treated as relaxation points. We created a series of organic forms to give the space a vivid feeling.
