Los Angeles faces a severe housing shortage and growing food insecurity, especially in low-income neighborhoods where over 33% of residents lack access to fresh produce. With 74% of the city zoned for single-family homes, this modular microhome proposes a replicable solution: densifying backyards while enabling urban farming. By transforming underused land into spaces for both housing and food cultivation, the project addresses two pressing urban issues and reimagines how cities can support healthier, more equitable communities.
