This season, Xinzi delves into the nostalgic yearning of individuals living in foreign lands for their homeland, weaving a tale through the fusion of diverse fabrics. Xinzi translates the unique attributes of each fabric into a design language.
By layering wool knitwear with wool crepe and silk satin with silk organza, Xinzi employs the layering of natural fibers to craft a fresh aesthetic.
She uses concrete, meaningful elements to describe an abstract emotion. Her goal is to achieve both comfort and practicality in each piece, while also incorporating innovation and emotional expression.
Xinzi Cui was born in Beijing. She moved to New York City in 2016 for her fashion dream. She worked for Thom Browne and Monse after graduation. She is currently an accessories designer of the Marc Jacobs.
Outside of work, as an independent designer, Xinzi has a unique design style and good at using rich colors. She believes that fashion is not only an aesthetic expression, but also an art form that can trigger people's thinking.
