Entry Description

Tradition is the way to know where we're coming from, and it allows us to know where we're headed.
The strong colors and patterns from the traditional Maori costumes became a powerful medium for expressing masculinity that was only in the head.
They developed a modern interpretation of their cultural characteristics. The modern silhouette of traditional costumes "piupiu" and "kahukuri" expresses identity with totemist objects and geometric patterns. The harmony of modernism and precious traditions that must be remembered and inherited means the future direction that each culture should pursue
