Entry Description

Gymnasium and swimming venue are designed comprehensively and arranged along the city ring road with a distinctive appearance as a prominent urban landmark.

The round roof opening interprets Chinese traditional courtyard in a modern manner. Its unique light and shadow effect offers dramatic spatial experiences, echo the local culture and support the Park-city urban strategy.

The architectural form was inspired by local book culture. The traditional symbol was expressed through modern materials and techniques, layered sun-shading panels just like gradually unfolding bamboo scrolls.
