I am a fiber artist with fashion design background. I am currently completing my MFA in Fibers from SCAD, and have mf BFA in Fashion Design from Marist College. I consider these material compositions as paintings. This form of painting captures impressionistic-like brush strokes through the interconnected weaving of hand stitching. I use hand stitching and collaged materials to examine sustainability. My sourcing starts from the local charity shops where the garments next destination is the landfill. Large bins line a massive room and act as the mountains for my material excavations.
