IDA 2026 IS NOW OPEN - REGULAR DEADLINE: AUGUST 15
Situated in the heart of a rapidly transforming agricultural neighborhood, it seemed obvious to use an animal shelter as the prototype for the form. A simple shed replicating vernacular structure maintains the metaphor and the single pitch captures the west facing aspects of the Teton Range. Modest straightforward use of materials reinforces the agrarian feel, and a limited palate achieves elegance through omission. Care was exercised in selecting the structural components and elements such as columns and footings are detailed in a manner that the house could be constructed by one person.
