The Finansbank headquarters are housed in the emblematic
Kristalkule tower at the heart of Istanbul’s new central
business district. As the bank acquired the building late in
construction, the primary design challenge for the architects
—who designed the base building as well as interiors—was
integrating the bank’s program and establishing its
corporate identity through interior design. In addition to the
35-story glass-clad tower—housing the company’s 2,000
employees, executive offices, and boardroom—the bank
occupies the 12-story office block to the west and three-
story podium linking the two buildings, which together
comprise the Kristalkule complex. Among its most significant
interior spaces is the five-story sky garden in the crown of
the main tower, while the podium is punctuated by a series
of indoor and outdoor public spaces leading to a 245-seat
auditorium, conference center, and other amenities. With
common themes and details, the interiors unify this
exceptionally diverse project.
