Entry Description

As a brand with huge affinity with the jet set, Farah Khan is
hugely inspired by architecture, art, music, antiques and
the natural world. This architecture project was propelled
by creative director Farah Khan’s artistic vision as she took
on iconic buildings from her travels. To cover her most
favourite theme of travel and architecture, she picked 10
icons from 10 cities, and studied them from all angles. One
of the most interesting challenges faced by the creative
team was to transform stately icons such as the Petronas
Twin Towers in Kuala Lumpur or Gherkin in London, which
carried an amount of weighty masculinity, into sculptural,
feminine dresses. Retaining the building’s spirit in the
finished product, whether it was a well-loved quirk or
cherished characteristic, was also a key step in realizing
the final product.
