Entry Description

Advanced and adaptive temperature control system, supporting all types of modular heating. The different units all carry the pulsing heart, behind which a set of RGB leds can change color and pulse to indicate system status and activity.
Pictures show base unit, temperature units, extender units, Y-box, and mobile phone interface. Temperature units rely on e-paper displays for low energy consumption and clear, crisp graphics. The design work has been carried out with user studies and interviews have been carried out, as well as close observation of the professional installation process.

Bio

Designs products and develops new ideas for current development and production, but also for future products, making use of new, emerging and future technologies.

Has designed transport, lighting, books, electrical appliances, media, telecom and musical instruments, working with international design groups and development teams in UK, North America, and with companies in Asia.

Nikolaus Frank was previously VP/Head of Industrial Design at Ericsson Mobile Communication, Division Consumer Products, where he initiated a new design centre and a new design line for the company's products.
