Entry Description

Designed for a world traveler of exotic and indigenous people and places. This home office is in the penthouse loft of an industrial high-rise building, formally a grain silo, overlooking the Baltimore Harbor and it’s extended waterways. The color palette and the metal grid railings are reminiscent of the concrete and metal exterior structure. The red leather wrapped wall grid adds a pop of color while relating to both the nearby signage of an industrial plant within view and the expose structure on the exterior of the building. The space is paying tribute to past travels with photos and artifacts of many visited places and exotic peoples. Surrounded by a 180° view of waterways, ships and railroads, the view beckons you to look out and imagine where all these travel modes could lead next. My challenge was to create a space that a world traveler could work, relax and dream.
