DYSON AIRBLADE? HAND DRYER
THE FASTEST, MOST HYGIENIC HAND DRYER

In June 2007, Dyson announced the U.S. launch of Dyson Airblade? hand dryer, the fastest, most hygienic hand dryer available on the market and a solution to one of the concerns of restroom users.

James Dyson revolutionized the way vacuum cleaners work with his unique patented Dyson cyclone technology. Now, he has changed the way we dry our hands by bringing the fastest, most hygienic hand dryer to the U.S.

?We didn?t set out to develop a hand dryer, but whilst developing air knives for a different project, we found that the force of air created by our Dyson Digital Motor (DDM) would scrape water from our hands, leaving them completely dry,? said James Dyson.

The Dyson Airblade? hand dryer does what it was designed to do ? dry your hands. Warm air hand dryers rely on evaporation and hot air to dry hands, which doesn?t work and can actually dirty newly washed hands.

There are four key differences between Dyson Airblade? hand dryer and warm air hand dryers/paper towel dispensers.

Speed:
Dyson Airblade? hand dryer utilizes the DDM to produce a 400 mph stream of clean air, blown through a gap no thicker than an eyelash. This sheet of air acts like an invisible windshield wiper, wiping moisture from hands leaving them completely dry in 12 seconds.

Hygiene:
Warm air hand dryers simply suck up dirty restroom air, heat it and blow it back on to hands, leaving them damp and more prone to spread bacteria. Damp hands spread 1,000 times more bacteria than dry hands. Dyson Airblade? hand dryer uses a HEPA filter to remove more than 99.9% of the bacteria from the air used to dry hands. It also features touchless infra-red sensor technology and anti-microbial additives.

Energy-efficiency:
Dyson Airblade? hand dryer uses up to 80% less energy than warm air hand dryers. The DDM is a small, long-life, low-energy and brushless motor that spins at 1,350 revolutions per second. DDM produces enough air pressure for Dyson Airblade? hand dryer to dry hands without the need for heat.

Cost:
With 500 uses per day, Dyson Airblade? hand dryer will cost businesses less than $100 to operate for 1 year, this is up to 80% less than warm air hand dryers. A business with 5 Airblade? hand dryers will save over $11,000 per year in operating costs over paper towels (paper towel cost is based on 2 towels per dry and at 1 cent per towel; electricity charges are based on 9 cents per kw/hr).

Dyson Airblade? hand dryer is being used in AMC theaters and nearly 100 restaurants and hotels across the US. It is priced at $1,400. To learn more about Dyson Airblade? hand dryer please visit www.dysonairblade.com.
