NIIZA House is a two-story detached house on a small housing lot in a suburban city of Tokyo. The surrounding area is famous for natural beautiful forest. Considering the surroundings, my client requests to design the house which incorporates nature indoors. Recently in Tokyo, people have less access to nature in thier daily lives as urbanisation have increased. In designing NIIZA House, home-grown ceder board walls and wood flooring were used to make the client feel good and help them heal. Skip floor like " a tree house " was designed for them to feel like spending time in forest.
