Entry Description

The Generator is a community center that offers green job training and a makerspace to spur local wealth in a neighborhood facing gentrification. The conceptual driver is “where innovation meets access.” Pivoting glass walls form an open-air plaza, inviting the community to participate in the makerspace. Elements like accessible circulation, a green air quality system, and culturally inspired design create a multi-faceted center for local empowerment, innovation, and grassroots future-building. The Generator adapts symbiotically to provide environmental, social, and economic sustainability.
