Entry Description

Built in 1991, existing HKMoA requires a major overhaul for its relevance to the city. Scopes are two-folds summarized as below:

Expansion
-New foyer on G/F to improve the entry experience and social space.
-Additional galleries at new-built Annex Wing and 5/F extension.
-Provision of a restaurant, a harborside cafe and a bookshop, for vibrancy of the harbor.

Renovation
-Aspired by the Victoria Harbor, image of the museum was re-established by the façade makeover, with deep recessed cladding for shadow effect.
-Dialogue with the city by introducing transparency at galleries and lounge areas.
