"New Glass Now" was curated from an open call of international submissions. Many visitors are not familiar with the traditions of display in art museums, so there was an intentional use of enclosures and protections for all pieces. The challenge was to make this gallery still feel inviting and reduce the sense of separation between art and audience, which was done through clear and frosted Gorilla glass at varying heights. Although each object had a different artistic intention there is a narrative thread of glass as a medium and a muse in this highly abstract exhibition design.
