ALICE BLACKWOOD - Editor, Design Quarterly
As Editor of DQ magazine, Alice divides her time between two of Australia’s major design hubs – Melbourne and Sydney, working with designers, organizations and institutions to bring DQ readers the very latest news on the people, products and parties in design. As one of Indesign Group’s most popular titles, DQ magazine provides an informative and adaptive forum connecting and reflecting the achievements and views of emerging designers, sector professionals, manufacturers, suppliers and retailers, within Australia and abroad. Conversational, intelligent, and occasionally a little bit cheeky, DQ offers readers a young, fresh and social environment, with a passion, knowledge and enthusiasm for design that resonates with its audiences. Taking an active and dedicated interest to her field of specialty, Alice works alongside major design industry initiatives and organizations, including Saturday in Design, Launch Pad emerging design program, Australian International Design Awards, State of Design Festival and more, supporting and cultivating Australia’s flourishing design community. She also brings journalistic expertise, having worked with major daily newspapers, and contributed to industry publications nationally. Her enthusiasm and passion for Australasian design is the driving force behind her ongoing work in the design community.

Lise Coirier - Editor-in-Chief, TL (Trends & Living) / Director, Pro Materia
After studying business management and art history in London and Brussels, Lise Coirier (Parisian by origin) specialized in contemporary crafts and design. She founded design consultancy agency Pro Materia in 1999 with the objective of promoting today's designers in Belgium as well as abroad by means of expositions, conferences, competitions and publications. Pro Materia's latest projects include 'Human Cities', a project on sustainable urban design which took place both in Brussels and Istanbul, the 'Belgian Designer Rooms' in thewhitehotel, 'Commerce Design Brussels', an initiative to promote well-designed retail spaces, and many more. At the beginning of 2009, Lise transformed the former Textile magazine into an internationally oriented quarterly on innovative materials and trends in design, fashion, retail and urban space. In the meantime, TL magazine, short for Trends & Living, has become a reference publication for a new vision on the design world of tomorrow.

HANS FONK - Editor-in-Chief, OBJEKT International
Fonk first completed his advanced studies in textile technology and then embarked on his career in photography, as a fashion photographer. In San Francisco he began photographing interiors, architecture, art and design. At the end of 1991 he launched his own publication, OBJEKT, which has meanwhile achieved world wide circulation in its English-language edition, OBJEKT International. Over the years, OBJEKT International has produced some stunning features on prominent interior and textile designers, antique dealers, artists and architects throughout the world. For OBJEKT International, he is also responsible for most of the photography, as well as the design, layout and editorial production.

MAXWELL GILLINGHAM-RYAN - Founder, Apartment Therapy
Part interior designer, part life coach, Maxwell Gillingham-Ryan is the founder of Apartment Therapy, originally an interior design service and now a network of blogs with over 4 million visitors per month.
Apartment Therapy Media is a premier network of blogs dedicated to the home. The network consists of five blogs - apartmenttherapy, thekitchn, ohdeedoh, unplggd, re-nest - each covering a major area of the home.
Maxwell was a regular commentator on the House & Garden Television show, Small Space, Big Style. He also appeared on HGTV’s Mission Organization and has been interviewed in various publications including The New York Times, The New York Post, The New York Observer, and The Wall Street Journal.

Alex Goh -Editor-in-Chief, founder and Publisher, TAXI
Alex Goh founded TAXI: The Global Creative Network in 2003 and directs strategic partnerships with TAXI's organizational partners, actively represents advertising awards across the globe, and produces design events and creative initiatives in North America, Europe, and Asia. Before TAXI, Alex started as freelance designer in 1998, and served professional creative roles in advertising and media agencies.

AARON KENEDI - Editor-in-Chief, Print
In his nearly fifteen years of professional media experience, Print's editor-in-chief Aaron Kenedi has written, edited, and designed books, magazines, newspapers, and websites for companies including HarperCollins, Bulfinch, ESPN, TV Guide, Newsday, and the San Francisco Chronicle. Kenedi was the founder and editor-in-chief of Shift Media and also served as editorial director of Miller Media, a design firm in San Francisco. He has collaborated with leading editorial and design thinkers including John Miller and Mario Garcia, and was a founding team member of Danilo Black with Roger Black and Eduardo Danilo in San Francisco.

REBECCA EPSTEIN KONG - Co-founder, Artware Editions
Rebecca Epstein Kong is Co-founder of Artware Editions a new exhibition and retail space that sells and produces functional objects by established and emerging artists, including those by Donald Judd, Chuck Close, Richard Tuttle, Rachel Whiteread, Donald Sultan and Sol LeWitt.  These objects can vary greatly in medium and use, having in common only the central theme of utility, and a strong connection to the conceptual themes explored by the artists in their larger bodies of work. She was former Director of Donald Young Gallery and Alan Koppel Gallery in Chicago, and Peter Freeman, Inc. in New York

KAHI LEE - Host, HGTV's "Design on a Dime," Style Network's "My Celebrity Home"
Kahi Lee is an expert in interior design, fashion, art and entertainment. Her contagious enthusiasm and irrepressible passion for all things stylish, along with her spirited and witty on-camera presence, have landed her on the team of designers for HGTV's Design on a Dime. She has also appeared on FreeStyle, another HGTV show, as well as on The Tyra Banks Show and My Celebrity Home, among others. She easily adapts to the tastes and attitudes of her wide-ranging audience and credits her demographic-defying designs and versatility for much of her TV success.
In addition to making TV appearances, she runs Kahi Lee Lifestyle (launched in 2005), a design company specializing in high-end residential interior design. Her style is very much reflective of her California lifestyle and upbringing.

NICOLE LLOYD - Senior Art Buyer, Deutsch, Inc.
Nicole Lloyd, Senior Art Buyer for Deutsch Inc. Los Angeles sources artists and produces photo shoots and illustration projects for Sony PlayStation and Saturn. In addition to her Art Buying career she also consults photographers on portfolio building.

WILLIAM MENKING - Founder, Editor-in-Chief, The Architects' Newspaper
Professor William Menking, is the founder and editor of The Architect’s Newspaper. Published in both New York and California the papers highlight the latest design projects and commissions, unfolding politics and debate, current events and cultural developments on architecture, urban design and planning. He has organized, curated and created catalogues for exhibitions on architecture for venues in the U.S. and Europe

RAJ NANDAN - Managing Director, Indesign Group
Managing Director and Publisher of Indesign Group, Raj was involved in the purchase of his first magazine title, Architectural Review Australia [ARA] at age 22. In 1994, he relaunched ARA, which was soon after sold to a media company where he worked as publisher of this title, as well as a number of other publications, until 2000. In 2000, Raj launched a new boutique-publishing house in Sydney, Indesign Publishing, along with the launch title, Indesign magazine. Indesign magazine found instant success and now circulates in 41 countries worldwide. Today, Indesign Group produces a stable of high quality design titles including Indesign magazine, DQ [Design Quarterly] and the recently launched Habitus magazine. Raj quickly recognised the need for a holistic offering to the industry and in particular a cross-platform presence. Indesign Group now pushes the boundaries between the traditional print medium, new online mediums and industry events run nationally. The group of products by Indesign Group today includes the phenomenally successful Saturday in Design [SiD] and Brisbane Indesign [BID] events, The Collection, Launch Pad and Indesignlive.com, as well as contract publication for clients. This year, Indesign Group will also host its first international event with Saturday in Design Singapore taking place in May.

Jeffrey Nemeroff - Co-Founder, Creative Director, Entra Magazine
Jeffrey studied both art and architecture, but his passion for the visual arts won out. Not long after receiving a BFA in art and design, he was hired at Architectural Digest where he quickly ascended to the position of art director. During his 15-year tenure, Jeff was not only responsible for all visual aspects of the magazine and upholding the quality of the brand, but he played a key role in issue planning and development as well. In his spare time he’s done design projects for various publications, universities and non-profits and has also managed to create his own fine art, which is collected and exhibited internationally. Jeff most recently created an online design and architecture magazine with photographer Mary E. Nichols (entramagazine.com), where he continues to work with writers and photographers worldwide.

LAURENCE NG - Publisher, IdN
IdN (International designers' Network) is an international publication for creative people on a mission to amplify and unify the design community. it is devoted to bringing designers from around the globe together to communicate with, learn from and inspire one another. It has truly become what the initials of its title proclaim it to be - an international designers' network.

BRANDUSA NIRO, Editor in Chief, The Daily Group / Senior Vice President, IMG Publishing
Brandusa Niro is an editor and publishing executive with 20 years experience in fashion. She began her career as the fashion editor of French weekly, L'Express, and went on to become editor of Elite magazine in Canada. After moving to New York in 1990, Brandusa was a fashion consultant for The New Yorker, and in April 1999 founded the online news service Fashion Wire Daily. In January 2004, Brandusa launched The Daily online at www.fashionweekdaily.com . Since then, the online Daily has become the fashion world's favorite source of up-to-the-minute fashion news.

CATHERINE OSBORNE - Senior Editor, Azure
Azure is a Toronto-based magazine focused on Canadian and international architecture and design. Catherine is a writer and editor in the fields of contemporary visual art, design and architecture. Her writing has been published in dozens of magazines and newspapers in Canada and internationally over the past ten years.

JOSH RUBIN - Editor-in-Chief, Founder, and Publisher, Cool Hunting
Josh Rubin believes that there are no new ideas, just great executions. As an interaction designer he's always looking for both creative inspiration and an understanding of the way people do things. In 2003 he decided to start a catalog of what he found and haphazardly named it Cool Hunting. Today Cool Hunting is synonymous with seeking inspiration and has a global team of editors and contributors sifting through innovations in design, technology, art and culture to create the award-winning publication that consists of daily updates and weekly mini-documentaries for an international audience of like-minded creative people. Josh is also responsible for the design of coolhunting.com and the iPad app, as well as the distribution via sites like Vimeo, YouTube, Twitter and Facebook. Outside of being an editor, Josh also consults on strategy, content and design for select clients including Apple, Adobe, Vodafone, Nike, Microsoft and MTV. Josh helped to found the digital consultancy Bond Art + Science, was a Lead User Interface Designer at Motorola, a Design Director at Razorfish, in charge of product development at Upoc Networks and an intern at IDEO. He has a BA in Communications and Cognitive Science from Hampshire College and a Master's in Interactive Telecommunications from NYU.

MELISSA STERRY - Interdisciplinary Design Scientist, Founder, Societás
Interdisciplinary Design Scientist / Futurologist /Transformational Change Strategist, Sterry is developing The Bionic City: The ultimate smart city. It's a model that transfers knowledge from complex natural ecosystems to a blueprint for a city resilient to extreme meteorological and geological events, enabling reduced structural damage and loss of life from events including flooding, hurricanes, and earthquakes. A PhD candidate, she is a researcher at the Advanced Virtual Technological Architecture Research (AVATAR) laboratory in London and a Visiting Fellow at University of Salford. She has sat on sustainability steering groups, non-executive boards, panels and committees for many organizations, including WWF, Green Awards, and the International Bionic Engineering Conference. A multi-award winning social entrepreneur, in 2010 she launched catalyst for rapid innovation sustainable design NEW FRONTIERS, and in 2004, founded sustainability think tank and collaborative lob oratory, Societás. In 2011,Melissa joined the presenting team at 360 media group Earth 2 Channel.

Newell Turner, has been editor-in-chief of the Cottages & Gardens Publications — Hamptons Cottages & Gardens, Palm Beach Cottages & Gardens and Connecticut Cottages & Gardens. Prior to that, he was style director for Gruner + Jahr’s Home Style and, before that, managing editor for Internet startup Room12.com
